Every year, U.S. military veterans transition into civilian life and navigate a vast ecosystem of government programs, nonprofits, educational institutions, healthcare providers, employers, financial services, and private organizations—all intended to improve veterans’ lives. Yet there has never been a trusted, independent platform where veterans can easily understand which programs are delivering meaningful value.
Today, that information is scattered across Reddit, Facebook groups, Google reviews, YouTube comments, and word of mouth. Veterans are often forced to make important decisions with incomplete, inconsistent, or biased information.
The Veteran Standard exists to change that.
We are building the trusted discovery and transparency platform for the veteran services ecosystem—giving veterans and military-connected families one place to search, compare, review, and discuss the programs and organizations that serve them.

The problem
Veterans can find official descriptions of benefits and services, but often cannot see what the application process, communication, wait time, or delivery experience was like for people who actually used them.
The experience gap
Better context helps people understand intake steps, likely wait times, questions to ask, and whether a program fits their needs before they commit.
Program-level transparency
Organizations may operate many different services. Reviews stay tied to the specific program used whenever possible so one experience does not become a misleading organization-wide score.
Independent reviews
Qualifying public reviews contribute to ratings after the 25-review trust threshold. Organizations can correct factual information and respond, but they cannot edit reviews or direct moderation.
Independent from government
The Veteran Standard is veteran-owned and mission-driven, but is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, or any government agency.
Sponsorship independence
Commercial relationships are labeled and kept separate from review, rating, ranking, and moderation systems. No organization can pay to control its score.

Programs need 25 public reviews. TVS then uses a simple Bayesian weighted rating that balances average score with review volume. Sponsorship, advertising, organization payments, and admin preference never affect rank.
